Profile
Prof Brian K Owler AM is an adult and paediatric neurosurgeon and Head of the Department of Neurosurgery at the San. He is experienced in the management of brain and spine tumours, hydrocephalus, complex spinal conditions, and functional neurosurgery.
Prof Owler is a Clinical Professor of Neurosurgery at the Australian National University. He currently serves on the Board of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons as well as Adventist HealthCare Limited. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, a former president of the Australian Medical Association and was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2018 for significant service to medicine and medical education.
Research
Clinical Prof Owler has particular interest in Cranial Surgery, Spinal Surgery, tumours of brain and spine, complex spinal disorders and Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus.
